Derek began learning the tree service trade in the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, British Columbia in 2001. He quickly took to climbing trees by day, and rock-climbing and bouldering in his spare time.
Derek enjoys the challenge of trimming hedges, using rope work to lower limbs on large tree removals, and fine pruning needed on some trees.
Derek saw the need for stump removal and bought a Stumpcutter to carry out that tasks in yards and business lots all around the Lower Mainland. Derek and I (Amanda) started Skyline Landscaping and Tree Service to perform these jobs. I am the Office Administrator and handle the website and social media, and Derek does everything else.
When not working, we spend our spare time out in the local parks playing Disc Golf and bouldering in the climbing gym with family and friends.
